Russian won a prestigious saxophone competition in Belgium

17 year-old Russian musician Dmitry Pinchuk has won the eighth Adolf Sachs International Saxophone Competition in Dinant, Belgium. It is the hometown of Adolphe Sax, the saxophone inventor. This prestigious event, hailed as the world's premier saxophone competition, drew over 260 musicians from nineteen countries for a two-week creative showdown held every 4 years, TASS reported. 

Three Russian saxophonists were among six finalists, including two Japanese and an Italian musician. Dmitry Pinchuk shared that managing emotions during his performance posed the main challenge, but he found joy in playing. Dmitry shared that he was warmly welcomed and proud to represent Russia on the international stage, 

All three Russian finalists are Frederic Chopin State College in Moscow graduates. Dmitry Pinchuk is set to receive the grand prize of 9,000 euros, while all finalists to be honored with awards.
