Russian language should be popularized first of all in those countries bordering Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is sure. The MFA Minister spoke at a meeting of the Council of the Heads of Subjects of the Russian Federation, that was held on Monday, November 20, TASS reports.

Sergey Lavrov highlighted the importance of broadening educational programs in Russian, with a focus on reaching expats who aim to work in Russia. Additionally, he underscored the need to broaden connections in sports and culture, strengthen collaboration among volunteers, and promote youth exchanges.

Lavrov commended the effectiveness of thematic camps in Russian regions, providing a platform for international peers of young Russians. He reassured that Moscow remains open to cooperation with cultural figures from abroad, emphasizing a commitment to avoiding the politicization of culture, even in countries where authorities may promote Russophobia.
