Cinema Night brought together more than 700,000 Russians

The number of spectators who attended the events of Cinema Night this year exceeded 700,000 people, TASS reports. The Ministry of Culture said that the all-Russian action was held at more than 4,000 sites. The department noted that the number of venues this year can be called a record one.

Film screenings in the halls and in the open air, concerts and lectures were included in the program of the event timed to coincide with the Day of Russian Cinema, which is celebrated throughout the country on August 27. The holiday was held full scale again in the regions of Russia after a break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The film festival is popular throughout Russia. This year, it took place for the first time in the easternmost settlements of Russia, in Chukotka. In the Moscow region, the festival united 250 venues, films about Moscow were screened excursions to filming locations were held.
