The list of the countries possessing Novichok neuroparalytic agent continues growing. It was found out that the German intelligence got the samples of this substance back in the 90s of the last century, as per the Zeit German newspaper, whose journalists conducted an extensive investigation, TASS reports.

A secret informer passed the sample of the poisoning substance to the Federal Surveillance Service of Germany. The operation was secret with involvement of the armed forces of Germany. According to the witnesses, the received sample provoked hot talks in the government, as the authorities refused to acknowledge that they are interested in the chemical weapons for their own purposes.

The journalists believe that the Novichok agent’s sample was passed to the West German intelligence by a Russian scientist who delivered it to the German territory and fled to the West afterwards.

The German government was headed by Helmut Kohl at that time. He ordered to pass the sample to the UK and US intelligence services. Later the information on Novichok was gathered by a special group consisting of the representatives of the special services from 5 countries. Some of these countries produced the agent in small amounts themselves. It is claimed that this was done with the only purpose of performing testing and finding antidote. The German authorities refused to comment on the information discovered by the journalists.

Note that earlier Novichok was produced in the Czech Republic, as per the President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman.

Despite absence of any evidence UK continues to insist on Russia’s involvement into poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter. The countries’ authorities are sure that Novichok neuroparalytic agent produced in Russia was used for this purpose. At this, OPCW experts failed to prove this version.
