All Russians who wanted to evacuate from the conflict zone in the Middle East returned to their homeland, the telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

The day before, on December, 18, a Russian Emergency Situations Ministry plane landed at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, which took off from Cairo. There were 73 people on board, more than half of them minors. The department's operational group, which worked in Egypt, helped organize the evacuation of Russian citizens and members of their families, returned on the same plane. The evacuees were provided with urgent medical and psychological assistance.

A total of 1,124 people fled the Gaza Strip, including 518 children.

The evacuation of Russians and members of their families from the Gaza Strip began more than a month ago. The first batch of evacuees was brought to Russia on November, 13. Temporary accommodation centers were set up for them.

Russian diplomats and rescuers, as well as representatives of other departments, did everything possible to get the Russians out of the danger zone as quickly as possible.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the evacuation of Russians from the conflict zone ''our sacred duty.'' According to him, the situation in the Gaza Strip ''has long since gone beyond critical.''
