The flock of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) is growing in Africa. Another community from Burundi has joined the Moscow Patriarchate. The head of the Patriarchal Exarchate of the ROC on the continent, Metropolitan Leonid, said in his Telegram channel that the community of Magara had decided to enter the Russian Orthodox Church "thanks to the missionary labors of our dean Priest Dimitry Ntakhonshiki."

Recently, the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Magara, located in Burundi. Last Saturday, on August, 26, six people were baptized and three more were accepted through chrismation.

In mid-August, the large Orthodox community of Gabon entered the ROC, the believers themselves expressed their desire to join the Moscow Patriarchate, after which they turned to the Patriarchal Exarchate of the ROC in Africa.

Previously, the community had an unfortunate experience with the Church of Alexandria, as well as non-canonical education. The ROC organized the training of parishioners, within the framework of which lectures and seminars were held on the foundations and traditions of Orthodoxy.
