A bas-relief depicting the founders of Russian cosmonautics Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Sergei Korolev and Yuri Gagarin will be unveiled in Venezuela. The monument will be installed on the territory of the Polytechnic University of the Armed Forces of Venezuela. This decision was made by the management of the educational institution, RIA Novosti reports.

The bas-relief will be donated by the Russian international fund Dialogue of Cultures - One World, the Russian diplomatic mission in the country said. The sculpture symbolizes the effective cooperation between the two countries in the space area.

In 2021, Russia and Venezuela signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the study and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

Decades after the flight of the first man into space, monuments to Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin continue to be erected around the world. On the last Cosmonautics Day in Bolivia, a portrait sculpture of the first cosmonaut was unveiled. it appeared at the Amachuma station, which is monitoring the satellites. This is the first monument of Yuri Gagarin in the country.
