Russian Federation government has specified the procedure that allows foreign students to enter Russia for a full-time study purposes at local colleges and universities, the Izvestia newspaper writes.

Earlier, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science has prepared an algorithm that has to be followed by foreign students wishing to enter the territory of Russia. An entry is not open to everyone, but only to representatives of countries where the epidemiological situation has stabilized.

The list of states open for an entry to the Russian Federation by international students to be gradually updated by Rospotrebnadzor. This information is going to be shared by Russian colleges with the students.

To be allowed into a classroom, students must inform their institutions at least 10 days before, get an approval and make COVID-19 test not earlier than three days before arrival. Corresponding medical document written in Russian or English that confirms a negative COVID-19 test has to be presented during border-crossing and in a dorm.

It is necessary to take another COVID-19 test upon arrival to Russia within 72 hours. Students are required to isolate in a dorm continuing online study. Face-to-face classes are only allowed for those who have both tests negative.

As Russkiy Mir informed earlier, Rospotrebnadzor has permitted students from abroad to continue their studies at Russian colleges, if they have medical certificates of two COVID-19 test confirming negative results. Closed borders with many countries have prevented mass return of foreign students to Russia.  About 100,000 freshmen from abroad enrolled to Russian institutions last year.
