Exhibits from the collection of the largest Russian museum are presented to the attention of residents and guests of the Bulgarian capital during the Hermitage days, the website of Rossotrudnichestvo reports. Two historical artefacts that are directly related to the history of Bulgaria were brought from St. Petersburg to Sofia. In the National Gallery you can see the sword and ring, which belonged to Khan Kubrat, the legendary founder of Bulgaria.

They were discovered over a century ago during excavations carried out on the banks of the Vorskla River. Then, not far from the village of Malaya Pereschepino, the researchers found a whole collection of rare books. Historians have concluded that both subjects belong to the era preceding the creation of Bulgarian statehood. They are very important not only for history, but also for art.
