Festival of Russian Culture in Ireland ended with grand celebration

The 10th Festival of Russian Culture in Ireland ended with a grand celebration at Liberty Theater in Dublin, Russianireland.com informs. Irish capital gathered hundreds of people at the festive fair.

National crafts, dishes of traditional Russian cuisine and performances of creative groups were presented to them.

Russian Ambassador in Dublin Yury Filatov congratulated the guests.

Famous Russian actor, singer and composer Grigory Gladkov came to visit his compatriots. The author of popular children's songs surpassed many of his colleagues in the number of released albums and even got into Russian Book of Records. Grigory Gladkov performed on the stage, charging his listeners with his energy. The composer also arranged the sale of his CDs, the proceeds of which will be sent to help shelters for animals.

Another surprise was the performance of Moscow Cossack Choir. Artists performed Russian folk songs and involved the audience in their dance performances, including Senator Gerard Patrick Grockwell. An independent Irish politician, representative of Labor Party stressed the futility of increasing inter-ethnic confrontation and the need to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.

The audience warmly welcomed both children's and adult groups and from the local Russian-speaking community.

As Russkiy Mir reported, Russky Most non-profit organization held Maslenitsa in the Irish capital. It began with a piano concert with the participation of Russian and Irish musicians. An evening in honor of Alexander Pushkin was held, led by a famous American translator and a great connoisseur of Russian poet Julian Henry Lowenfeld. 

Lecture on the events in Russia and Ireland at the beginning of the 20th century and a discussion about the diplomatic ties of the two countries at different times was held in Dublin.
