Former prisoners, members of their families and Russian diplomats gathered at the memorial at the place of Klooga concentration camp to pay tribute to the victims of Nazism. The action was devoted to the anniversary of the tragedy killed 2.000 people in the concentration camp near Tallinn, Sputnik news agency reports.

Seventy-four years ago the fascists received information about the Red Army offensive. They shot and burned about 2.000 prisoners of the Klooga camp three days before the liberation of Tallinn. Most of the dead were European residents.

Two witnesses of terrible events attended the event. There are only a few alive former prisoners of the Klooga camp. According to them, it is impossible to forget the tragic events in order to prevent their recurrence. Such actions allow to remind the modern international community about the terrible consequences of fascism and Nazism. Russian Ambassador to Estonia Alexander Petrov said that young people should visit the memorial near the place of the Klooga concentration camp in order to learn the lessons of the past.
