British filmmakers awarded with Sochi Film Festival awards

London citizens got to know about SIFFA International FIlm Festival held in Sochi, according to the Rossotrudnichestvo website. The best films from the last year's festival bill were screened in the British capital for three days. Besides, the gala awarding ceremony was held afterwards. The festival award was handed out to the film director Stephen Frears for his movie Victoria and Abdul. The actors playing the main parts - Ali Fazal and Dame Judi Dench were called the best actors in the male and female nominations.

Artem Mikhalkov was awarded with a special SIFFA IRIDA Recognition Award and SIFFA diploma UK For Support of the Film Festival. London hosted a premiere of his movie Bet on Love.

SIFFA UK diplomas were handed out to the British film director M. Murphy for his short-length film Shivon, to the film director and screenwriter Matt Harlock (The Ink, Cock and Rock 'n' Roll) and the film director Ken Camroux (Mastermono).

The founder and the president of the festival, Russian-British writer Lyubov Balagova has mentioned that such activities help joining the two countries - Great Britain and Russia.
