The independent International Film Festival SIFFA is taking place in London with the support of the Russian Embassy. Film screenings will last until November, 27, TASS reports.

This year the festival program includes 45 films, about half of them are Russian films from different years. Screenings take place in a number of cinemas, including in central London near Piccadilly Circus.

The festival opened for the 7th time; in addition to Russian films, the program includes films from China, the USA, Great Britain, Australia, Iran and other countries. The founder and president of the film forum, Lyubov Balagova-Kandur, said that organizing the festival in the current political situation was not easy, but everything worked out.

As part of the festival, the Irida Prize will be awarded for contribution to the development of cinema; it will be awarded to famous Russian and Soviet film director Vladimir Alenikov, who directed Gorgon Medusa.
