Bulgarian authorities are prohibiting the entry of Russian cars into the country, RIA Novosti reports. The decision will take effect on the evening of October, 2, the head of the country’s border service, Anton Zlatanov, promised.

According to him, the ban also applies to freight transportation. He clarified that not many cars registered in Russia enter the country.

As Russkiy Mir reported, earlier, the European Commission announced that cars with Russian license plates were banned from entering the EU territory. Smartphones, laptops, suitcases, cosmetics and other personal belongings can be confiscated.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called the EU’s actions racist.
