Concert in Honduras dedicated to Pyotr Tchaikovsky

A concert and lecture dedicated to the work of Pyotr Tchaikovsky took place in the capital of Honduras, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports. It was held on September, 23 at the Center for Culture and Painting of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (NAUH). The organizers were the Russian Embassy, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo and the university management.

According to Russian Ambassador Alexander Khokholikov, this event was a successful continuation of bilateral cooperation in the field of culture. He is sure that a closer acquaintance with the culture of another country allows one to get to know its people better.

The guests were told about the life and work of the great Russian composer. Local musicians performed piano pieces by Tchaikovsky, as well as romance songs based on poems by Russian poets.

Among the guests were teachers and students of NAUH, cultural figures, scientists, graduates of Soviet and Russian universities, and compatriots.
