New Russian films and Soviet classics to be shown at China film festival

Eight Russian films, including films by contemporary directors and Soviet film classics, will be screened as part of the 18th China Changchun Film Festival. The film screening started on August, 27 in Changchun and will last for eight days, Xinhua News reports.

The international film program, which has become part of the film festival, includes classic films and contemporary film repertoire. Four Russian films will be screened in each category.

In the classical section, Chinese viewers will be able to watch such films as The Cranes Are Flying and The Ballad of a Soldier, which have entered the history of world cinema. In the category of modern cinema, screenings of films such as The Whaler Boy, The Age of Pioneers and others are planned.

The program of the prestigious film review includes 25 films that were successfully shown in Chinese cinemas.
