The Kiev Theological Academy and the seminary of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) are leaving the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, TASS reports.

According to the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ), educational institutions will now be located in the Kiev Goloseevsky Monastery.

The UOJ notes that the decision to move was caused by a ban from the administration of the reserve. The authorities announced that "outsiders" could not enter the territory of the monastery.

The Holy Intercession Monastery, Goloseevskaya Pustyn is a skete of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, located in the forest on the southern outskirts of the Ukrainian capital.

On the morning of August, 15, Ukrainian police began to storm the buildings of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The UOC said that police officers armed with machine guns cordoned off buildings 54, 57 and 58 of the monastery. They cut off the locks and broke into building No. 57, where pilgrims and monks live.

Before that, representatives of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) penetrated the sealed buildings of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Without waiting for permission, they tore off the seal put by the administration of the reserve from the doors.
