A study entitled "Ukrainian Chaos", dedicated to the origins of events in Ukraine, has been published in France. The author of the study is a well-known political scientist, head of the West-East Association, Nikola Mirkovich. The humanitarian visits to Donbass, which he made before the start of the special military operation, allowed the scientist to assess and state the causes of the conflict without bias, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

According to Mirkovic, Western approach in relation to Russia was similar to the approaches used by NATO against Serbia in the late 1990s. This prompted him to make humanitarian trips to the Donbass when Kyiv began to attack the region.

The political scientist said he was disappointed with the position of the EU in the situation around Ukraine. He stressed that the EU remained silent in 2014, when a civil war broke out against its own inhabitants through the Kyiv's fault. And in 2022, the European Union began supplying weapons to Ukraine, rejecting a peaceful settlement.

Nikola Mirkovic acknowledged the loss of sovereignty of the EU as a whole, including its core countries Germany and France. According to the political scientist, "important decisions are made for us in Washington."

He hopes that Paris could become the initiator of change in the West regarding the Ukrainian issue and the transition to peace talks.
