NATO is practically taking part in the Ukrainian conflict, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is sure. According to him, de jure, the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance directly support the Kiev regime, RIA Novosti reports. The Russian minister called such actions of the NATO members irresponsible. This could bring the threat of a direct clash of nuclear powers closer, the minister warned.

Sergey Lavrov stated this while speaking at an international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues. The forum, which was organized under the auspices of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, was held in the Moscow Region on Wednesday, May, 24, for the 11th time.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that Moscow had repeatedly made statements that such a position of Western countries is unacceptable. Nevertheless, in the West such appeals are either ignored or distorted in order to achieve propaganda goals.

Russia has already conveyed an appeal to the NATO countries that the expansion of arms supplies to Kyiv would have a negative effect. They do not benefit the process of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow.
