International Pacific Theater Festival to be launched in Vladivostok

International Pacific Theater Festival to be held for the first time in Vladivostok, the largest city and the administrative centre of Primorsky Krai next month, TASS reports. The event is organized by the Chekhov International Theater Festival with the participation of the Theater of Nations and its artistic director, famous Russian actor Yevgeny Mironov.

The festival is a key event in the program aimed at theater arts development on the Far East. Locals and guests will get acquainted with the best examples of theatre art from both Russia,  Asia-Pacific countries, and other states, such as Argentina, Georgia, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Armenia, Spain.

The theater program to be complemented by Q&As, meetings, lectures and discussions of future performances.

The opening performance based on the ancient Indian epic "Mahabharata" is staged by Japanese director Satoshi Miyagi. It will be followed with a play based on Beckett's play "The End of the Game" by Robert Sturua staged at the National Rustaveli Theater (Georgia). Yerevan theater will present th Crumpet  based on the namesake story by Maupassant.
