The British auction house Christie's has earned more than $4 million at the auction of Russian art, TASS reports. The auction ended the day before, July 21, and lasted three weeks. Due to restrictions aimed at combating the spread of coronavirus infection, it was held online.

Peasant Girl by Abram Arkhipov "Peasant Girl" and View of Tiflis by Vera Rokhlina became the most demanded works. They went under the hammer for $320,000 each.

The buyer paid more than 100,000 for the Still Life with Hyacinths, Tulips, Mallows and Peonies by Leonid Pasternak, the father of the famous Russian writer Boris Pasternak. The picture was put up for auction only for the second time.

The most expensive piece of decorative and applied art turned out to be a dish from the State Porcelain Factory in Petrograd, decorated with a propaganda pattern. It was bought for almost $200,000 with an estimate of less than $50,000.
