Russian Ambassador in US proposes to promote cultural cooperation

International music contests and other cultural projects can become the base for rapprochement of countries in these uncertain times, according to the Russian Ambassador in the US Anatoly Antonov. He referred to the International Tchaikovsky Competition during his speech at the final concert of Tchaikovsky Grand Prix winner Alexander Kantorov, TASS reports. 

French pianist with Russian roots performed in the France Embassy in Washington. Anatoly Antonov has reminded to the guests that 180th anniversary of the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky is going to be celebrated next year. Antonov persuaded that music has a positive influence on bringing people from different nations together, because it doesn't require translation.

Anatoly Antonov called for closer cooperation in aforementioned field that will help to overcome disagreements, misunderstanding or mistrust.
