The monument to Soviet soldiers will open after restoration in the German city of Beilrode on Thursday, April 25. The solemn ceremony was included in the program of Russian Seasons, the website of Rossotrudnichestvo reports.

The monument was installed in the mid-1970s, when the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was celebrated. It is a T-34 tank. To date, only three such monuments have been preserved in Germany. All the rest were dismantled in the 90’s.

It should be recalled that it was restored by Russian specialists. Volgograd Branch of Russian Military Historical Society and the Heritage Military Historical Museum were the initiators of the project, which was called No Man Left Behind.

Russian ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev, mayor of Volgograd Andrey Kosolapov, the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo Yuri Metelev, mayor of the city Rene Fetter, and other officials will attend the opening ceremony.

Guests of honor will plant the Peace Oak in confirmation of the intentions of cooperation and good neighborliness.
