St. Petersburg and Rio de Janeiro get closer thanks to the football

2-days action dedicated to Saint Petersburg as a 2018 FIFA World Cup city took place at the Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro. Guests were invited not only to speedy bouncing of the ball, but also to learn how to visually distinguish Northern capital from other cities of the world. All participants received memorable prizes with  FIFA World Cup symbols, TASS reports. 

In addition to the questions on Saint Isaac's Cathedral and the Winter Palace, locals were asking questions about the football club Zenit, the weather and Russian football players. 

Aside of contests and football souvenirs the participants have received St. Petersburg travel brochures. The banner with St. Petersburg symbolics has become the favorite of the event. People were making pictures and writing on it their wishes to the team. This banner to be part of fan zone on the Konushennaya square very soon.  

People in Argentina and Montevideo were introduced to St. Petersburg earlier this year. The action organiser Olga Bondarovets stressed that such events would attract people's attention not only to the game but also to the beautiful Russian places.
