Russian coaches help create Pan-American Military Arts Sambo Federation

Sambo International FederationPan-American Federation of Military and police Sambo will be established by Russian coaches abroad, RIA Novosti reports. The organizers have explained that various countries of South and North America will be included into the Federation, such as USA, Canada, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.

Deputy Director of Sambo Federation in Mexico City Alexander Trofimov has stated that administrative preparations will take about two months. According to him, military men and police officers will be able to get sambo trainings in a new center of Mexican capital very soon. Training sessions meant for police officers and other law enforcement structures and taught by coaches from Russia. Besides, the center plans to train bodyguards.

Military Sambo Championship among Latin American police officers is to take place already this year. World Championships are also scheduled.

Massachusetts Sambo Federation President Andrey Popandopulo has added that military art sambo includes all those elements forbidden in sports and combat sambo. “We train people to survive in any emergency situation and protect themselves by all possible means,” he said.
