The final stage of the All-Argentine competition of Russian poetry was held in Buenos Aires. The competition has been held by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Argentina for eight years in a row. According to the organizers, not only people from the families of Russian compatriots, but also local residents became its participants.

According to Olga Muratova, who heads the Russian House in Buenos Aires, interest in learning the Russian language in Argentina is constantly growing. This is also evidenced by the fact that the Native Rhymes contest enjoys ever-increasing popularity. She added that this year the number of Argentines who wanted to read poetry in Russian has reached a record high. The lines of Pushkin, Bunin, Yesenin, Lermontov were performed by people of all ages - from 6 to 75 years old. It is gratifying that foreign policy issues could not influence the interest in Russian culture, Olga Muratova clarified.

The competition traditionally gathers participants not only from the Argentinean capital, but also from various parts of the country. This year, the competition was held as part of a set of events dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language, which is celebrated on June 6.
