Nine training programs of Russian universities are included in the list of 50 best universities in the world by the compilers of the QS World University Rankings. Five of the programs were developed at Lomonosov Moscow State University. The programs of other leading Moscow universities and St. Petersburg Mining University were also included in the rating, RIA Novosti reports.

The Russian universities have increased their presence in the ranking by two programs, compared to 2019. The growth is also observed in the number of Russian universities included in the top 100: there are 28 of them now compared to 25 programs last year.

Russian universities showed good results in subject ratings; MSU was included in 30 subject ranking tables out of 48. St. Petersburg Mining University became the best among Russian universities in “Engineering in the mining industry and mining” discipline. Like last year, it was among the twenty best universities in the world in this category.

According to QS, from 2012 to 2017, Russian universities showed significant growth in the direction of “scientific activity”, having improved the indicators by more than two times. According to the head of the QS research department, Ben Souter, this indicates the effectiveness of the work of the Russian Government of Russia.

The research analyzed various indicators of more than thirteen thousand individual study programs of nearly 1.4 thousand universities in 83 countries.
