Russian parliamentarians decided to temporarily abandon visits overseas, according to RIA Novosti. The reason was the incident that happened with Inga Yumasheva in the United States.

According to the media adviser to the speaker of the lower house of the Russian parliament Anastasia Kashevarova, the State Duma’s visits to the US will not resume until the overseas leadership gives an official explanation of what happened and apologizes. At the moment, in particular, the trip to Washington of the head of the State Duma Committee on the financial market Anatoly Aksakov has been canceled.

Russkiy Mir reported that the documents were seized from Yumasheva at the New York airport and taken to a separate room, where a person who called himself an FBI officer asked her for an hour "unclear and unacceptable questions." Then he proposed to continue communication in a cafe in an informal setting.

The Russian Embassy handed a note of protest to the State Department and demanded an explanation. The action has a pronounced anti-Russian character, its organizers and initiators sought to further worsen relations between Moscow and Washington the foreign ministry is convinced.

According to diplomats, it is possible that the US leadership is not seeking to establish dialogue or cannot control its own special services. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Russian parliamentarian was going to attend the Fort Ross Dialogue forum, which helps to strengthen mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
