Russian Treasures of the British Crown book has been released by Slovo publishing house. On the pages of the publication one can find images of Russian jewels, which are in the possession of the UK, and information about them. The book included the products of Demidov plants, Faberge Easter eggs and other relics, RIA Ura.ru reports.

The authors of the book indicate that the products of the predominantly XIX century were on the pages of the publication. In earlier times, jewelry was made on the territory of Russia from local materials, but jewelry making as a national phenomenon in that era had not yet been formed.

In the XIX century, the Russian jewelry art came to the forefront in Europe, and the works of the masters were highly valued by the experts. Malachite vases made by Ural craftsmen from Demidov factories, tables made of semi-precious stones and gilded bronze, exquisite furniture and sets of dishes appeared in the collections of British monarchs.

In addition, the Faberge Imperial Easter Eggs, owned by Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna, got into the country (and still belong to it) from Faberge’s company. Thirty years ago, these exhibits for the first time in several centuries left the UK and were exhibited in the Moscow Kremlin. Permission was given personally by the Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II.
