Golden Mask Festival reaches Israel, Turkey and Baltics

A new season of the Golden Mask theater festival starts with numerous tours over Russia and abroad, TASS reports. In spring the first performances were already shown in Saratov, Ekaterinburg, and Voronezh. Ten more cities will see them in autumn.

In addition, the Golden Mask Israel program was a great success. It is held for five year in raw. In October 2018 traditional festivals will take place in the Baltic republics of Latvia and Estonia. There the festival is held annually for more than ten years.

Latvia will welcome the Golden Mask in October. The Bolshoi Theater, the theaters of Vakhtangov and Mayakovsky, the Theater of Nations etc. will participate. Performances are scheduled not only in Riga and Tallinn but also in small towns of Narva, Viljandi, Sillamae, Ventspils and Liepaja. Artistic meetings, lectures and workshops complete the program in the Baltics.

As usual ticket are sold out, people bought them immediately. The Russian-speaking people and increasing number of local residents come to the event.

This year the Golden Mask expands the geography. It comes to Turkey. In Istanbul, the Theater of Nations will stage Hamlet by Shakespeare. Yevgeny Mironov performs the main role.
