Russian theaters from all over the world came to Omsk

6th Academia theater festival embraced Russian theater companies that came from Moldova, Israel, Sweden, and other countries to Siberian city of Omsk, reports Omsk Region Information Agency. 

Eugene Onegin play directed by Rimas Tuminas is one of the most expected shows of the festival. Famous actors of Vakhtangov Theater came to the Omsk theater stage. Sergey Makovetsky, Irina Kupchenko, Liudmila Maksakova are well known not only in the frames of the theater stage but TV and film.  

The mayor of the Omsk region gave to Moscow actors the symbol of the festival – Winged Genius statuette. Vakhtangov Theater was in evacuation in Omsk during WW2 and have very special relations with this city since then.  

The festival goes on in Omsk every two years, and is thought to be one of the most important festivals in this region.
