The British football fans present at the game of their national team playing with Tunisia regret that fewer people came to Russia due to anti-Russian mass media campaigns. At this, they talk about Russia being a very hospitable country, TASS reports.

As per the local mass media, intimidated Englishmen were afraid of coming to Russia and eventually there were much less people from the UK than fans from Tunisia, who shouted, sang and danced louder and faster than the British fans.

According to the statistics, about 35 000 tickets are booked for the British, which is much less that at the championships in Brazil 4 years ago. Nevertheless, the country entered the top 10 by number of the bought tickets.

The English mass media fouled Russia’s reputation after the so-called Skripal’s case. Some British mass media has gone very negative about Russia writing publications on how dangerous it is for the British fans to come to the Russian Federation because of aggression of the Russians.

In particular, an English fan in Volgograd shared: “ I don’t get it. The Russians are so friendly… When I talked to one guy with a tattoo on his leg Marseille 2016, all that he wanted was to hug me.”

The English national team held the first game at the FIFA World Cup in Russia leaving behind the national team of Tunisia with a score of 2:1. Their meeting took place on Volgograd-Arena the day before. The British openly express their admiration with the Russian championship, whereas the fans have much appreciated warm reception of the hosting country.
