Russian writers are dressed in soccer uniform

Participants of the Meetings with Russia international theater festival are to be reminded about FIFA World Cup 2018 that starts in Russia in two months, writes Metro newspaper. Russian-language theaters from many countries to bring their shows to the stage of The Baltic House in St. Petersburg.

The theater hall is decorated with famous Russian writers dressed in soccer uniform posters. According to the Baltic House director Marina Belyakova, Russian classics is very well known around the world, which couldn't be said about Russian soccer players who rarely please supporters with victories. Festival organisers hope that writers to become appropriate role models to follow for Russian athletes.

A t-shirt bearing the image of Fyodor Dostoevsky is embellished with two crossed axes, the poet Mikhail Lermontov wears t-shirt with a white sail (as read in his famous poem: 'A lone white sail steadfastly glistens'), while Nikolay Gogol wears v-shaped shirt with three horses.

Famous classics' quotes are added to the portraits. For example Anton Chekhov will remind that 'Everything should be first-rate in a person, his face, clothes, soul and thoughts.'
