The Israeli parliament believes that the country should be more active on the international arena for stronger resistance to attempts of the holocaust denial and the Red Army memorials’ desecration. This question became a central topic at the meeting of the Repatriation and Integration Commission held yesterday, according to TASS.

Polish Ambassador to Israel Jacek Khodorovich was invited to the meeting. Warsaw approved of the law about demolition of the monuments to people who sacrificed their lives for liberation of the world from fascism. Besides, several days ago, President of Poland accepted the law banning talks about participation of the Polish in holocaust under heavy penalty.

Deputies see such actions of the Polish authorities as disgraceful. Members of the commission has noted that this can be called history falsification. Such a position of the state resulted in increases in crime, and acts of vandalism against the monuments. Denial of the decisive role of the Red Army in fighting against Fascism is gaining more popularity.

The Parliament members have underlined that everything possible should be done to stop this tendency. They have also stated that attempts of history falsification are unacceptable as they could lead to unawareness of the next generation about what had really happened at that time.
