Russian Novel and other best performances received awards at the Golden Mask Ceremony

Russian Novel play by Marus Ivashkyavichus was a complete success at the ceremony of 23d Golden Mask Award that was held in Moscow. This staging was acknowledged the Best Drama Performance. Besides, its stage director and leading actress Elena Simonova received Golden Mask awards. The play devoted to Lev Tolstoy is performed at the stage of Mayakovsky Theatre.

Danila Kozlovskiy was awarded the Best Actor for his Hamlet role in the staging by Lev Dodin. Honorable Golden Masks were handed out to Aygum Aygumov, Andrey Borisov, Irina Bogacheva, Nikolay Marton, Oleg Tabakov and Vladimir Etush.

Romeo and Juliet staging won in the nomination of the Best Ballet performance. Golden Mask for the Best Male part of Mercurio perfectly played by Igor Bultsyn was also handed out to Ekaterinburg theatre. Its representatives have thanked the jury for the honorable award.

Pavel Klinichev for staging Undine by Hans Werner Henze unanimously received the theatre award in the nomination of the best orchestra conductor work.

Victoria Tereshkina became the Best Actress of the year for her role in Violin Concert № 2.

The Drayman and The King was acknowledged by jury as the Best Musical Theatre.

Rodelinda was chosen as the Best Opera performance. The Awarding Ceremony hosts handed out Golden Mask to Vladimir Urin who thanked everybody involved in this staging and expressed an opinion that this is a common victory of the whole team and the Bolshoi Theatre.
