Russian pianist and composer nominated for Grammy Awards

The US National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has announced the list of nominees for the Grammy Music Awards 2023. Among the contenders are pianist Daniil Trifonov and composer Sofia Gubaidulina, classicalmusicnews.ru reports. 

2018 Grammy Award winner Daniil Trifonov is once again contending for the award in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category with his album ''Bach. The art of life.''

Sofia Gubaidulina's work "The Wrath of God" performed by the Gewandhaus Orchestra under the direction of Andris Nelsons is presented in the Best Contemporary Classical Composition category.

The awards ceremony will take place on February 5, 2023 in Los Angeles.

In total, nominees are presented in 91 categories, including eight in the field of classical music.
