Russian Cinema project won Silver Archer USA award

Gala Award ceremony of Silver Archer USA Award took place in Washington the day before at the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo, RIA Novosti reports. This competition is arranged 6 years in a row. Russian and American communication TV programs oriented to extension of international, cultural and business relations can compete for this award.

Online project Russian Cinema gained the main prize. The aim of this project is to promote Russian films abroad. It has been launched a year ago with support of Russian Ministry of Culture and Roskino. One platform contains more than 10 000 Russian and Soviet motion pictures, series and cartoons.

Overall, around ten applications were sent for participation in this competition and six projects were shortlisted. Children folk music group Lada was among other nominees, it is affiliated with Metaphor Academic Center for Russian Language & Culture located in a small city called Falls Church, Virginia. Besides, Russian Cultural Center in New York, which organized the Youth Forum, was nominated for this award too. 

Russian Cinema and Music Festival Far From Moscow conducted in Los Angeles was on the list of nominees as well.

Congress of Russian Americans presented its exhibition Russian Time of the Tubabao Island, which reveals little-known pages of White Russian Refugees. It was opened with a documentary about lives of “relocated people” the story about refugees who crossed the border with the Philippines in order to escape from Chinese Communists.

Russian Sunday School Gramota (Diploma) opened in Montreal became one of finalists. It presented its own drafts of teaching aids and workbooks on the humanities of the school curriculum. This project was supported by Russian Universities and grants by the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

Italian entrepreneur Marco Maggi's book, "Russian to the Bone," is now accessible for purchase in Italy and is scheduled for release in Russia in the upcoming months.
