Russia mourns TU-154 crash victims

Today, 26 December, is an official day of mourning in Russia. All the entertainment events have been cancelled, national flags are flown at half-staff, and TV channels have changed their line-ups, reports RIA «Novosti». Dead services for those died in the plane crash over the Black Sea will be held in all the Orthodox churches of the Russian Federation today. President of the RF Vladimir Putin has offered his condolences to family members of the victims.

It is to be recalled the aircraft carrying nine journalists, Elizaveta Glinka (Doctor Lisa) and over 60 members of the Russian Army’s official military choir and dance troupe of the Alexandrov ensemble crashed over the Black Sea yesterday. The aircraft took off from Adler early in the morning and was flying to Latakia, Syria, when it crashed.

Belarus has expressed condolences for the plane crash victims to Russia. Patriarch of Moscow and All the Rus’ Kirill prays and mourns for them as all those who lost their dearest and nearest killed by the accident. Politicians and official persons both of Russia and other countries, including President of Kazakhtan Nursultan Nazarbae, President of Czechia Milosh Zeman, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, President of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliev, Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker among many others express their condolences over the tragedy as well. People living in foreign countries bring flowers and leave burning candles at the buildings of Russian diplomat missions.

Recovery operation has been on the way and 11 bodies and over 150 parts of the crashed plane. The bodies have already been sent to Moscow to be identified. The heavy current got the aircraft wreckage and the bodies of the victims towards Abkhazia. Deep-operating vehicles have arrived at the site of the recovery operation today.
