On Thursday, December 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin summarizes the results of the outgoing year in a meeting with Russian citizens and journalists. This year's event combines two traditional formats - a direct line and a big press conference, RIA Novosti reported.

The event opened at noon. Journalists from federal and regional media, as well as reporters from abroad, gathered in the studio. In addition to addressing press-proposed topics, the president fielded questions from Russian citizens, either submitted beforehand or posed live. The entire interaction with the head of state is being broadcasted across several television channels, including Pervy, Rossiya 1, Rossiya 24, NTV, Mir, OTR, and on radio stations Mayak, Vesti FM, and Radio Russia.

The direct line received over two million questions and concerns. Among the most common topics are roads, pensions, housing and utilities services, and the special military operation. People from all Russian regions call, write, shoot video messages, and call center operators record questions around the clock.
