Stars of Russian and world ballet performed with great success in the capital of Japan, RIA Novosti reports. The concert took place the day before, November, 22. The Muses of Ballet series of performances has begun in Tokyo.

Fans of classical choreography greeted the dancers with applause. Dancers of the Mariinsky Theater Philip Stepin and Mei Nagahisa, representatives of the Mikhailovsky Theater Angelina Vorontsova and Ernest Latypov, Alena Kovaleva from the Bolshoi Theater, Vadim Muntagirov, Alina Cojocaru and others appeared on the stage. They performed excerpts from the ''Romeo and Juliet'' by Prokofiev, ''The Sleeping Beauty'' and ''Swan Lake'' by Tchaikovsky, ''Giselle'' by Adam, and ''Don Quixote'' by Minkus.

The concert ended with thunderous applause; the audience called the dancers for an encore and did not want to let them go. The curtain had to be raised three times amid shouts of ''bravo.''

The next concert will take place on Thursday, November, 23. The next day the dancers are going to Osaka.
