The joint choir of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and the Moscow Theological Academy performed in Addis Ababa, organized jointly by the Orthodox churches of Russia and Ethiopia. The concert took place at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in the Ethiopian capital; it was part of the program of the Days of Spiritual Culture of Russia in Ethiopia, the website of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate reports.

The concert of one of the most famous choirs of the Russian Orthodox Church was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Ethiopia, as well as the 225th anniversary of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, which will be celebrated next year.

Addressing the audience, Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin noted the importance of cultural and spiritual dialogue for the development of friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.

The concert was organized by the Russian Ministry of Culture, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian Church.
