The memory of Boris Pasternak was immortalized in Sicily, the telegram channel of the Russian Consulate General in Palermo reports. The portrait sculpture of the famous Russian poet and writer was installed on the territory of the University of Messina.

The monument to Pietro Antonio Dzveteremich, Doctor Zhivago's translator, was unveiled at the same time. It was in Italian that the novel was delivered to the Nobel Committee. The Russian edition, based on a manuscript not marked by the author, was published in Milan in 1959.
