Russian classical music festival kicks off in Umbria

The Russian Classical Music Festival opens on Friday, July, 7, in Umbria, located in central Italy, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

The program is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the pianist, composer and conductor Sergei Rachmaninoff. Marcella Scarponi, who teaches at the Ciro Scarpone Musical Association in Torgiano, and Tatyana Shustova, teacher at the University of Illinois, will perform the works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Alexander Siloti, Sergei Prokofiev.

The event will take place at the University of Perugia. Everyone is welcome, admission is free.

The festival is organized by the Association of Russia in Umbria with the support of the Russian House in Rome.
