Russian Education Week kicked off in Argentina

The Week of Russian Education has started in Argentina, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. The signing of an agreement on cooperation between Russian and Argentine universities was timed to coincide with its start. The agreement was signed by the Ural Federal University, the Ufa University of Science and Technology and the National University Arturo Jauretche from Argentina. 

According to the head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Buenos Aires, Olga Muratova, the agreement once again proves that no obstacles have prevented the development of bilateral ties in the educational sphere. In addition, it will expand the popularization of Russian education among Argentines and will contribute to cultural and humanitarian exchange between the countries.

Muratova added that the parties plan to create a double degree program and work together on scientific research. Universities will also develop academic exchanges.

The parties also discussed the promotion of the study of Russian as a foreign language in the Argentinean university.

The popularity of the Russian language is growing in Argentina, many locals want to know the language and are interested in the Russian culture. the National University Arturo Jauretche has already begun to select a Russian language teacher. They can be one of the compatriots living in Argentina, or they can invite a specialist from Russia.
