Russian Geographic Society (RGS) is preparing for a comprehensive expedition to India. It starts on December, 30, according to the RGS website. Its participants will be young scientists who have successfully passed the selection.

The expedition is aimed at studying natural and historical objects. For two weeks, the researchers will work in the unique hard-to-reach areas of the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland.

The RGS is implementing such a project for the first time. It is intended to restore interest in the study of India. In the future, expeditions to the Himalayas are planned to be held every year.

Among other tasks, participants explore the crash sites of Allied military aircraft in 1943-1945. A documentary will be filmed during the expedition.
