Online project to tell the Germans about Andrei Tarkovsky

The Russian House in Berlin has launched a multimedia online project entitled "Time of Tarkovsky." It is dedicated the 90th birthday of the outstanding director. The website contains materials from Russian archives, the Russian House telegram channel reports.

The website presents the biography of Andrei Tarkovsky with his photographs at different ages. It also reveals the details of the director's film works, the history of their creation and perception by contemporaries. 

The creators of the project note that the cinematography of Andrei Tarkovsky turned out to be timeless. ''In this project, you will once again see that the topics that the director raised in his films are more relevant today than ever,'' the site says.

The website contains unique materials from the leading archives of Russia and Italy - the Museum of Cinema, the Mosfilm Cinema Concern, the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents, VGIK and others.

On the occasion of the director's anniversary, the Russian House in Berlin launched a retrospective of Andrei Tarkovsky's films, screenings will be held in November and December, admission is free.
