Russians win Without Borders Circus festival

Russian performers have won the "Without Borders" International festival of circus art. Its results were summed up the day before, on November 6, in St. Petersburg, RIA Novosti reports.

The main award went to gymnasts on flip boards under led by Anatoly Ruban. Belt gymnasts Egor and Lucia Sukhorukov and the ''Plunging into Love'' by belt gymnasts Marat and Dilyara Bikmaev were also among the winners.

Among the silver medalists are Belarusian acrobats on the opposite swing led by Mikhail Filinov, Russian jugglers of the"Palace fun" show, tightrope walkers led by Sergei Kozhevnikov and the Russian trio of clowns "Without Socks" from the Great Moscow Circus.

Performers from Vietnam, Ukraine, Italy and Ethiopia received bronze medals.

The festival was held for the first time, the idea of ​​holding it appeared after the Russians were removed from the circus festival in Monte Carlo. According to Sergei Belyakov, head of the Russian State Circus, the festival was timed to coincide with school holidays. He recalled that it is among children that circus performances are most in demand.

The funds received from the ticket sales will be donated to the needs of the fighters participating in the special operation.
