Fedor Konyukhov sets off on a new journey, TASS reports. Its final destination will be the North Pole. Together with his partner Igor Potapkin, he will make the first part of the journey on the nuclear icebreaker ''50 Years of Victory.'' They set off the day before, on August 2, the ship will take them from Murmansk to Franz Josef Land.

The famous Russian traveler is preparing to set another record. This time he is planning a non-stop paragliding flight. He is set to overcome 900 kilometers without a cab. The expedition promises to be very dangerous.

The traveler himself recalled that he had been to the Pole more than once, but misses seeing it already. Konyukhov and Potapkin had previously set a record for a non-stop flight, covering more than 1,000 kilometers from Voronezh to Chechnya. The upcoming flight will be more difficult, as the Arctic Ocean is overboard, strong winds that can slow down the flight speed.

Igor Potapkin compared the flight with the expeditions of the pioneers of the last century. He recalled that no one had yet flown to the Pole on a paraglider.

After the flight, the travelers will wait for the rest of the expedition members, who will get to the Pole on an icebreaker. The flight will take place at an altitude of ten meters to 1,5 kilometers from the ground.

Weather permitting, travelers can make their way back – from the North Pole to Franz Josef Land – by paragliding.
