Russia has ended cooperation with the Finland-Russia Society, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported. The department called the stance taken by the public organization "openly anti-Russian." After the start of the military special operation in Ukraine, the management of the organization obediently copies all statements made in the West directed against Russia, the statement says.

The MFA noted that the society suspended cooperation within the framework of the Russian-Finnish Cultural Forum and the Congress of Sister Cities. Hiding behind statements about “supporting the anti-war movement” in Russia, society is practically interfering in the internal affairs of the country.

It is obvious that the Finland-Russia society has discredited itself, the MFA stressed. The same can be said about the international Finno-Ugric movement.

Russian diplomats assured that Russia does not plan to curtail dialogue with those public organizations of the neighboring country that have retained common sense. This number includes the offices of the Finland-Russia society located in the regions, as well as its ordinary members, if they remain ready to continue constructive cooperation based on mutual respect.
