The famous Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov is getting ready to set a new record, TASS reports. This time he is planning a non-stop paragliding flight. The start of the transcontinental expedition is scheduled for next week. Konyukhov will set off on his journey on June 5 from Arkhangelsk. Thus, the traveler wants to support the Clean Arctic federal project.

Konyukhov will be joined by international master of sports, pilot Igor Potapkin. They are expected to fly from the White Sea to the Black Sea. It is expected that the 3,000 kilometer flight will take more than two weeks. It is planned the existing record, which is 427 kilometers, within the first leg of the trip. Russian travelers are going to overcome 500 kilometers without landing.

The paragliding route is laid through Plesetsk, Vologda, Yaroslavl, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Moscow, Tula, Voronezh and Krasnodar. The travelers are going to arrive in Moscow on June 12. The final point of the route will be Novorossiysk. The project is supported by the Russian Geographical Society and the United Federation of Sports of Ultralight Aviation of Russia.

This project is a stage in the preparation of Konyukhov and Potapkin for the first flight to the North Pole on a paraglider. It will start in August from Murmansk.
